1.Navigate to the "Broadcasts" section of the sentinel backend.
2. Select "INAPP" option from the broadcast methods.
3. This then creates an option of three different sounds you can choose from.
4. No sound is sent out for the silent alert, but different app notification sounds are sent out for standard and critical alert sounds. Should you wish to change those sounds in your sentinel app, please contact support@yudu.com and the support team can action the request for you.
5. It is important to note the following:
- App users can turn off push notifications for your app if they choose to do so. The best way to combat this would be to clearly communicate how you wish to use push notifications, and not to send unnecessary notifications. You may also be able to control app user behaviour with your MDM (Mobile Device Management) solution.
- App notifications work differently on iOS and Android apps in terms of how they are displayed within the relevant notification centres.
- The current app behaviour is that tapping on a push notification on a user's device will take them into the app, however, it will not take them directly to the messages section of your app, so your app user will have to navigate to the messages section themselves for the time being.
